No longer a spring chicken, Commissar Brahm has been ordered to show the ropes to a novice from the local university. Amusingly, that novice is his own son Peter, a law student. Although Brahm goes out of his way to treat Peter like any other employee, their relationship nevertheless plays a significant role in their work. The two may have very different attitudes on how to solve crimes, but that only makes them an unbeatable team.
Der alte Kriminalkommissar Brahm erhält als neuen Mitarbeiter einen Hospitanten von der Universität zugeteilt. Pikanterweise handelt es sich dabei um seinen eigenen Sohn Peter, einen Jurastudenten. Obwohl sich Brahm vornimmt, ihn wie jeden anderen Mitarbeiter zu behandeln, spielt natürlich auch die Vater-Sohn-Beziehung hinein. Sohn Peter hat ganz andere kriminalistische Methoden als sein konservativer Vater, trotzdem werden die beiden gemeinsam ein unschlagbares Team.

TATVERDACHT:
Kurt Herting is found unconcious in the cellar of his apartment building by two homeless men. It's obvious he's been beaten: He's missing his gold wristwatch and his briefcase. Commissar Brahm, who's taking his son Peter with him on his investigation for the first time, is told by the two homeless men --- Paul Leisegang and Franz Schmelfink --- that their "colleague" Alfons Buehler is the one who supposedly committed the crime. A major search is conducted to find the man, who has previous convictions for theft and vagrancy. At first, the police aren't successful in their quest; but then, they track Buehler to a jewelry store, where he's trying to sell the watch. Before they can grab him, however, Buehler gets away. But then new facts come to light proving they're after the wrong man.
Kurt Herting wird im Keller seines Wohnhauses von zwei Stadtstreichern bewusstlos aufgefunden. Er wurde offenbar niedergeschlagen. Ihm fehlen seine goldene Armbanduhr und seine Brieftasche. Kommissar Brahm, der seinen Sohn Peter erstmals mit zu seinen Ermittlungen nimmt, erfährt von den beiden Obdachlosen Paul Leisegang und Franz Schmellfink, dass ihr "Kollege" Alfons Bühler die Tat begangen haben soll. Sofort wird eine Großfahndung nach dem Mann eingeleitet, der wegen mehrfachen Diebstahls und Landstreicherei vorbestraft ist. Die Fahndung verläuft zunächst erfolglos. Schließlich taucht Bühler aber bei Juwelier Krossnik auf, und will die Armbanduhr versetzen, kann aber rechtzeitig entkommen. Dann ergeben sich aber neue Tatbestände, die beweisen, dass Bühler unschuldig ist.
15 GRAM PARA-OXON:
Commissioner Brahm's investigations lead him into the world of wrestling this time: the unloved wrestler Chatanuga, known as the "Chief of the Sioux Indians", is found poisoned in his cabin. His rival, the Spanish champion Alfredo Gonzales, has since disappeared without a trace. So, of course, he becomes Prime Suspect No. 1. The poison which killed the wrestler was in a bottle, from which he normally took his "miracle drink". While the search for Gonzales continues, Brahm has to investigate some other shady characters as well: the head of the wrestling team, Mr. Wirth --- who determines who'll win each match --- and his assistant Mr. Papke.
Kommissar Brahms Ermittlungen führen diesmal ins Catchermilieu: der unbeliebte Catcher Chatanuga, genannt "Häuptling der Sioux-Indianer", wurde vergiftet in seiner Kabine aufgefunden. Sein Rivale, der spanische Meister Alfredo Gonzales, ist seitdem spurlos verschwunden - der Verdacht fällt daher auf ihn. Das Gift, mit dem der Catcher getötet wurde, befand sich in der Flasche, aus der er sonst seinen "Wunderdrink" zu sich nahm. Während die Suche nach Gonzales weiterläuft, nimmt Brahm sich aber auch andere zwielichtige Gestalten unter die Lupe: so den Chef des Catcherverbandes, Herrn Wirth, der vor jedem Kampf bestimmt, wer gewinnt und seinen Assistenten Herr Papke.
SILO III:
A dead man is found in a sand silo. It all looks like an accident, but Mr. Binger's wearing a suit ... and he's at a construction site where he worked as a mechanic and welder. Major Schirmacher of the Abwehr informs Brahm, that the man was one of his agents, camouflaged as a welder at the site near Ziegelheim where they're building an air base, to investigate potential infiltration by enemy agents. Apparently, that's what cost him his life. Brahm relies on his conventional methods to track down the killers, but his son's unorthodox ways quickly lead to the discovery, that one of the suspects is not using his real name.
In einem Sandsilo wird ein toter Mann gefunden. Alles sieht nach einem Unfall aus, jedoch trug Herr Binger einen Straßenanzug - und das, wo er doch Mechaniker und Schweißer auf einer Baustelle war. Major Schirmacher von der Abwehr erklärt Brahm, dass der Mann als Schweißer getarnt auf der Großbaustelle bei Ziegelheim tätig war, um auf dem Anwesen, auf dem ein Luftwaffengelände errichtet werden soll, eingeschleuste Agenten auszuforschen. Das hat ihm anscheinend das Leben gekostet. Während Brahm auf die herkömmliche Art und Weise ermittelt, greift sein Sohn zu einer etwas unorthodoxen Methode und findet schnell heraus, welcher der Verdächtigen nicht seinen wahren Namen trägt.
EIN GROSSE FISCH:
Corinna Buchmann is found standing before Commissar Brahm's door. She's frantic: her brother was fatally injured in a hit-and-run eight days ago. That's the official version of the incident, anyway. However, Corinna doesn't believe it was an accident and tells Brahm, that her brother was a reporter, who told her on the phone, that he'd landed a big fish. On the evening of the "accident", he had an appointment with an unknown person somewhere in the suburbs. Brahm re-opens the concluded investigation and installs Peter into the newspaper office as a cub reporter.
Corinna Buchmann steht eines Abends vor Kommissar Brahms Tür: sie ist total verzweifelt - ihr Bruder ist vor acht Tagen tödlich verunglückt - so lautet jedenfalls die offizielle Version. Corinna jedoch glaubt nicht so recht an den Unfall, bei dem ihr Bruder überfahren worden sein soll. Sie berichtet Brahm, dass der Tote Reporter beim Nachtkurier war und ihr erzählte, dass er einen dicken Fisch an der Angel hatte. Am Abend seines Todes hatte er irgendwo außerhalb der Stadt eine Verabredung mit einem Unbekannten. Brahm nimmt die bereits abgeschlossenen Ermittlungen erneut auf und schleust Peter in der Zeitungsredaktion als Reporter ein.
