Marko summons a foreign healer who manages to revive her physically, but her emotions remain numb. The healer tells Marko that only a miracle can restore Nastya's feelings.
AELITA - THE QUEEN OF MARS (1924): A mysterious radio message is beamed around the world, and among the engineers who receive it are Los, the hero, and his colleague Spiridonov. With the revolutionary Gusev, he travels to Mars, but the Earthlings and Aelita are thrown into prison by the dictator. Gusev and Los begin a proletarian uprising, and Aelita offers to lead the revolution, but she then establishes her own totalitarian regime.
A MESSAGE FROM MARS (1913): Horace Parker is an exceedingly self-centered, wealthy man. Marianne Klockhoff runs a kindergarten in the small Tyrolean mountain village of Alpsee and is assisted by the young nurse Dorle. Dorle is being chased after by two virile mountain-men: Franzl and a certain Mr. Lenz. Franzl's hormones aren't entirely committed to the hunt (and, in any event, he's more hot to leave the village and make a living as a hotel manager). Franz meets the attractive Beate and her small daughter Christine during a visit to the city. Beate wants to leave her husband Philipp and put little Christine in a home where her sister Marianne is already languishing ... at least temporarily. If this weren't enough to make the child feel like a neglected pet, there's always Franzl's manipulation of her, using his "good relationship" with the kid to get closer to the object of his lust; an effort which ends up in success. Apparently more interested in her new boy toy than her kids, Beate's going to try and help Franzl get a position in a hotel in Baden-Baden. Much to the disappointment of his obviously naive admirers, Franzl shows up at the grand, annual rose festival as Beate's eye-candy. And lest we think sleaze incapable of paying back on a favor, Franzl uses tricks to get Beate voted the "Rose Queen" at the highpoint of the festival. As for poor, abandoned Christine, she's feeling very lonely in the children's home (a nice phrase for "orphanage") and misses her daddy very much (who, for some reason, has let his "beloved" child be put with a bunch of orphans).

Franzl nutzt seinen guten Draht zu dem kleinen M dchen, um der Mutter n her zu kommen, und schlie lich scheinen seine Bem hungen von Erfolg gekr nt. Beate will ihm helfen, eine Anstellung in einem Hotel in Baden-Baden zu bekommen. Zur Entt uschung seiner anderen Verehrerinnen tritt Franzl beim gro en Rosenfest, dessen H hepunkt die Wahl der Rosenk nigin ist, an der Seite Beates gegen Dorle und Lenz an und verhilft mit einem Trick seiner eleganten Freundin zum Sieg, der anschlie end bei Franzls Tante, der Schneiderwirtin, z nftig gefeiert wird. Die kleine Christine f hlt sich im Heim sehr einsam und vermisst ihren Paps.
Seit Jahrhunderten sitzen die Salzer auf dem pr chtig ausgestatteten Familienhof unter dem ewigen Eis des Dachsteins, jetzt f hrt die junge Witwe Jutta ein strenges Regiment. For centuries, the Salzer has sat on the magnificently equipped family farm in view of the eternal ice of the Dachstein and the farm s young widow, Jutta, runs a tight ship. Even her feelings for the foreman Hannes, whom she loves, doesn t interfere with her pride and lust for power. The farm s old shepherd, named The Tiroler , watches the developments with concern. So as not to show any signs of weakness to Hannes, Jutta disregards his and the shepherd s warnings not to overmine the old salt works. A mystery about the Czar's last daughter, Anastasia Nikolayevna Romanoff, develops in Germany years after the murder of the royal family in Yekaterinburg. A former Austrian-Hungarian POW by the name of Franz Svoboda testifies that Anastasia managed to survive the execution of her family by the Bolsheviks and was secretly carried off to Romania. Then, in 1920, and unknown woman jumps into the Landwehrkanal in Berlin. She's brought to a mental hospital, where she refuses to tell anyone her name and origin. The attending doctor determines the woman has injuries to her skull consistent with being shot and beaten. She also has deformed feet. Ms. Polvert, who has shown up at the hospital to investigate the situation, is convinced the bedridden girl is the Czar's daughter, Anastasia and informs the exiled Russian royalty in Germany.

The film highlights the extreme hardships faced by nomadic peoples, as well as the bravery and ingenuity of the Bakhtiari on their migration in search of grass, which meant abundant seasonal pasture for their animals. Grass documents the caravan route from Angora (modern-day Ankara, Turkey) to the Bakhtiari lands in Persia (western Iran in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Provinces and the eastern part of Khuzestan). The film then follows Haidar Khan as he leads 50,000 of his people and countless animals on a harrowing trek across the Karun River and over Zard Kuh, a subrange of the Zagros Mountains.
The farmers on the Lohhof, the largest farm in the area, are well known all around and have the highest prestige amongst their peers, not the least, because they never suffer any shortage of water. When in times of drought the water everywhere else has dried into nothingness, the water on the Lohhof is abundant and fresh. But one very dry summer, the drought comes to the Lohhof, too, and this time, the source of the water has dried up. And so, with diving rod in hand, one of the farm's old peasants goes on his merry little way to find a new source of water. At one point, the diving rod bends so strongly, that it almost slips out of the old man's hands. Convinced that there must be a huge source of water nearby, all the farmers of the Lohhof bend their backs to find the new well. They dig long, but they dig in vain: no water is found, only a strange sand, which is yellowish, shiny and flickers golden in the sun.

Die Rute schl gt so stark aus, da sie fast seinen H nden entglitten w re. An dem Platz, meint er, muss Wasser sein. Alle verf gbaren Arbeitskr fte auf dem Lohhof graben nun eifrig nach dem kostbaren Gut. Sie graben lange, sie graben vergeblich. Wasser wird nicht gefunden, nur ein seltsamer Sand, gelblich. golden gl nzend, flimmert.

Princess Roswitha is annoyed. She scornfully rejects the marriage proposals of the noblemen introduced to her at estivities hosted by her father, King Lowenzahn (Dandelion). She mocks one of the men for his beard which reminds her of a thrush s beak and dubs him King Thrushbeard. Her father threatens to marry her off to the very next beggar who comes along. When a wandering minstrel walks through the castle gates shortly thereafter, he is forced to make good on his threat. Roswitha leaves with the minstrel, lamenting: "Oh, poor, tender maiden that I am if only I had accepted King Thrushbeard..."

Emperess Catherine II wants to get rid of Princess Elisabeth Tarakanova, who is to replace her on the throne of Russia. She asks Prince Orlov to travel to Venice so he can seduce Elisabeth and bring her back to Russia. Orlov and Tarakanova fall in love.
The composer Peter Paul Muller is attempting to make a namer for himself in Berlin at the turn of the 19th into the 20th Century. His wife Lisbeth supports his attempts. He soon writes an operetta with a poet-friend of his entitled Wie einst im Mai and ends up with a surprisingly huge success. He soon manages to become the director of a theatre, but with his professional ascent, his personal life soon comes into a crisis. His liaison with a singer destroys his marriage. His partner Gesenius abandons him because of this affair; and now, the theatre seems about to close.

Er bringt es bis zum Theaterleiter, doch mit dem beruflichen Aufstieg beginnt es in der Liebe zu kriseln. Durch M llers Liaison mit einer S ngerin zerbricht seine Ehe. Sein Teilhaber Gesenius l sst ihn aufgrund der Aff re fallen, und nun droht auch dem Theater der Niedergang.

Filmed with a strong sense of compassion for the impoverished and an underlying hatred for the injustice which forces them into the lives they must live, this is one of the first works from Brazil's Cinema Novo. A poor Brazilian family struggle to earn a living when they take a job overseeing the livestock of a wealthy rancher. They move into an abandoned house, and their fortunes begin to take an upward turn. The father is duped into a card game with a crooked local policeman. The ranch hand protests, and a fight ensues that results in his beating by the cop. Despite being the victim of injustice, the man believes there should be some semblance of law and order and makes no protest about the incident. A severe drought has the man moving on from the ranch with his family to earn their living elsewhere.
