Im Sommer 1941 überfällt die Wehrmacht die Sowjetunion. Einige deutsche Soldaten hatten ihre Schmalfilmkameras im Gepäck. Sie filmten die erhängten Partisanen und zerstörten Dörfer, aber auch ihre Kameraden beim Baden im Schwarzen Meer. Harriet Eder und Thomas Kufus konfrontieren sechs von ihnen mit den Aufnahmen und verdrängten Erinnerungen, ohne Entschuldigungen einzufordern.

Interesting, 90 minute film which uses the private film material of six soldiers who were on the Russian Front.  These soldiers survived the war on the Eastern Front and eventually shared their private films with the producers of this movie, as well as their commentary about what it was all like.  A very enlightening look into the views of those who served in Russia, their views then, their views now; those whose opinions changed with their political maturity over the years, those whose opinions haven’t changed at all.
