Based on the dramatic events of the Second Silesian Uprising of August 1920: Seven brothers go into battle and, together with other insurgents, take over the town. The youngest, Gabriel, gets a German uniform and sneaks into a settlement controlled by the Germans, where he falls in love with a very young German nurse. During the fighting, a Polish officer with a cannon comes to the aid of the insurgents. However, German pressure is getting stronger.
