An exceptionally good film with superb performances in an HD quality print. I can't thank Rare Films enough for making this outstanding film available to the general public. It deserves to be seen and not tucked away in some vault.
People might say "Oh, it's just a movie, one should not take it seriously." But one SHOULD! It is NOT just a movie, these things really happened every day in one way or another. It's a piece of history that ought not to be forgotten.
Especially remarkable in the cast are Horst Buchholz as a young Russian soldier and Erich Ponto.
The subtitles are well chosen and to the point and easy to read in yellow for non German speaking audiences [of which I am not one].
