Robert and Igor, English and Russian noblemen respectively, are students at Oxford. After graduation, Robert's family takes a trip to Paris. Igor joins them, so as to meet his brother Mitya, who funded his studies. He doesn't know, however, that Mitya is earning his livings as a dancer and appears every night at the Chateau-Russe as the "Midnight King". Mitya and Robert's sister Mabel immediately fall in love with one another; but when Mitya disappears one evening, she becomes horribly jealous.

Robert, ein englischer, und Igor, ein russischer Adliger, sind Kommilitonen in Oxford. Nach Abschluss des Studiums unternimmt Roberts Familie eine Reise nach Paris. Igor schließt sich ihnen an, um seinen Bruder Mitja zu treffen, der sein Studium finanziert hat.
