Suzanne and her mother Yvonne take a trip to the Riviera. Since Suzanne’s father is always buried in his work, he neglects Yvonne, who is soon swarmed by a philanderer. In the meantime, the deep-sea explorer Gerard arrives with his expedition ship in San Remo harbor. Suzanne’s had the hots for him for a long time now and Gerard is hardly disappointed that Suzanne has blossomed from a little girl into a pretty young woman. So as to prevent her mother falling into the hands of the philanderer, Suzanne fakes her kidnapping and hides herself on Gerard’s ship.

Suzanne und ihre Mutter Yvonne fahren an die Riviera. Da Suzannes Vater zur sehr in seine Arbeit vertieft ist, vernachlässigt er Yvonne, die bald von einem Schürzenjäger umschwärmt wird. Währenddessen trifft der Tiefseeforscher Gerard mit seinem Expeditionsschiff im Hafen von San Remo ein. Suzanne schwärmt schon lange für ihn, und auch Gerard erkennt erfreut, dass aus dem kleinen Mädchen eine hübsche junge Frau geworden ist. Um zu verhindern, dass ihre Mutter in die Hände des Schürzenjägers fällt, täuscht Suzanne ihre eigene Entführung vor und versteckt sich auf Gerards Schiff
