The ballet dancer Myrena Fergusson is murdered in a seedy hotel in London. She was a stoolie for Scotland Yard in the battle against international drug smuggling. Inspector Craig shows up at the scene of the murder, but the body's disappeared! Myrna's pretty sister Danny arrives from Australia. Myrna had asked her a short time before to pay her a visit. While flying over, she got to know strange Mr. Farnborough, who keeps running into her everywhere she goes in London. Then there's the smarmy photographer David Armstrong. He keeps running into the police at murder scenes and believes he has photographic proof that Myrna is still alive.

In einem schäbigen Londoner Hotel wird die Tänzerin Myrna Fergusson ermordet, die Mitglied eines internationalen Rauschgiftrings war und als Spitzel für Scotland Yard arbeitete. Aber als Inspektor Craig zum Tatort kommt, ist die Leiche verschwunden. Dafür trifft Myrnas hübsche Schwester Danny aus Australien ein, die von Myrna kurz vor ihrem vermeintlichen Tod gebeten wurde, nach London zu kommen. Auf dem Flug lernt sie den merkwürdigen Mister Farnborough kennen, dem sie immer wieder begegnet. Und der schmierige Fotograf David Armstrong, der immer schon vor der Polizei am Tatort ist, glaubt Hinweise zu haben, dass Myrna noch lebt.
