When the student Kathe defends her friend Thilde after an incident, they are both expelled from school.  In order to cover up the expulsion, she tells her parents that she is sick.  Then she promptly falls in love with the attending doctor, who not only cures her sudden illness, but who marries his new patient.  It doesn’t take long, however, before Kathe gets bored living the life of a doctor’s wife.  She looks for a distraction and soon secretly enrolls in a new school.

Als die Schülerin Käthe ihre Freundin Thilde nach einem Vorfall verteidigt, wird sie von der Schule verwiesen. Um den Hinauswurf ihren Eltern zu verheimlichen, stellt sie sich krank. Prompt verliebt sie sich in den behandelnden Arzt, der ihre plötzliche Krankheit nicht nur heilt, sondern seine Patientin auch gleich heiratet.  Aber schon bald langweilt Käthe das Leben einer Arztgattin. Sie sucht nach einer Beschäftigung und meldet sich heimlich in einer neuen Schule an.
