With the understanding of his fiancee Helga, Dr. Holl marries terminally ill Angelika, who is in love with him, so as to give her some happiness before she dies. Unfortunately for the successful doctor's fiancee, pity soon turns into actual love, and Dr. Holl actually invents a serum which make Angelika well again. Torn between the love of two women, Holl must make a difficult decision.  

Mit Einverständnis seiner Verlobten Helga heiratet der erfolgreiche Arzt Dr. Holl die todkranke Angelika, die in ihn verliebt ist, um ihr ein letztes Glück auf Erden zu geben. Aber dann wird aus Mitleid Liebe und Holl entdeckt ein Serum, das Angelika gesunden lässt. Zwischen zwei Frauen hin- und hergerissen, muss Holl eine Entscheidung treffen.
