The famous actor and singer Stefan Hell, the darling of all women, would really like to play more serious rolls and because of that, end up having a row with his theatre director.  It turns out to come in real handy then, that after an accident at sea, he’s presumed dead.  He grows a beard and lives a simple life as a fisherman at a vacation destination.  The only person who knows he’s alive is his screenwriter Borger.  In the interim, an unemployed actress, Nina Martini, pretends to be Hell’s widow and gets the female main role in a play at the theatre. 

Der berühmte Schauspieler und Sänger Stefan Hell, Liebling der Frauen, möchte gerne ernstere Rollen spielen und hat deswegen Krach mit seinem Theaterdirektor. Da kommt es ihm gerade recht, dass er nach einem Unfall auf See als tot gilt. Er lässt sich einen Bart wachsen und lebt als einfacher Fischer an seinem Urlaubsort. Der Einzige, der weiß, dass er noch lebt, ist sein Drehbuchautor Borger. Inzwischen gibt sich die arbeitslose Schauspielerin Nina Martini als Hells Witwe aus und erhält so die weibliche Hauptrolle im neuen Stück des Theaters.
