Die junge Beatrice hat sich gegen den Willen ihres Vaters zur Tänzerin ausbilden lassen. Im Zirkus lernt sie den berühmten Dompteur Ruda kennen und verliebt sich in ihn. Doch am nächsten Tag ist Ruda mit dem Zirkus verschwunden. Beatrice bekommt eine neues Engagement bei einem anderen Zirkus und macht Karriere als Tänzerin zwischen lebenden Tigern.

Young Beatrice has taken up being a dancer, much to the annoyance of her dad. Performing in the local circus, she gets to know the famous lion tamer Ruda and falls in love with him. However, the very next day, Ruda and the circus disappear into thin air! Beatrice manages to pick herself up and gets another job as an entertainer with another circus and makes her career as the girl who dances between live tigers. Okaaaay.

But Hans Söhnker works fine as a stand-in.
I'm not sure why film makers are so fond of killing animals in movies, but it is definitely a pattern and subtracts a star from what would otherwise have been a pretty decent drama around love, jealousy, envy and crime among circus performers.
