Frauenheld Conny und sein in diesen Dingen weniger erfolgreicher Bruder Fred machen ein einträgliches Immobiliengeschäft an der Côte d'Azur und erhalten als Anzahlung einen Scheck über 100.000 Franc. Auf der Rückfahrt nach Paris lernt Conny im Zug die attraktive Vera kennen und bleibt ihretwegen zunächst einmal in Monte Carlo. Doch Vera und ihr Begleiter Baroff, ein Betrüger, der sich als Baron ausgibt, sind hier auf Beutezug, und Conny verliert im Spiel gegen den vermeintlichen Baron den Scheck an Baroff. Als er dahinterkommt, dass er hereingelegt wurde, eilt er dem Zug nach, mit dem Vera und Baroff flüchten und verunglückt dabei schwer. Als Vera davon erfährt, macht sie sich schwere Vorwürfe. Am Bahnhof begegnet sie Connys Bruder Fred und verliebt sich in ihn. Da beschließt Vera, ihre Zukunft mit Fred zu verbringen und ihr Leben grundsätzlich zu ändern

The womanizer Conny and his less successful (in all things) brother Fred run a profitable real estate business on the Cote d’Azur and receive a payment for 100,000 Francs. On their return journey to Paris, Conny gets to know the attractive Vera on the train and remains a bit in Monte Carlo on her account. But Vera and her companion, Baroff, an impostor, who passes himself off as a baron, are in Monte Carlo on the prowl and Conny loses the payment to the alleged baron in a card game. When he figures out he’s been conned, he rushes off to the train Vera and Baroff intend to flee on and gets in a bad accident. When Vera finds out about it, she makes some serious allegation against her companion. She meets Conny’s brother Fred and falls in love with him. She decides to spend her future with him and to change her life completely.
