HASSAN WA HASSAN (1945):

Hassan is a taxi driver. He has a cousin whose name is also Hassan; but that Hassan is simply a con man. Hassan "The Con" marries his cousin, Hassan the driver's sister. He then finds an opportunity to blackmail taxi-driver Hassan and urges him to invest his money in a phony company. They travel to Alexandria, where they meet beautiful Houria, and both promptly fall in love with her.

MAN AL GANI (1944):

Wealthy Mansour Pasha bequeaths all his wealth to his two sons, evil Omar and kind-hearted Othman Bey. Othman Bey and his son drown and both die, leaving his wife, Faika Hanem, and his daughter without a source of income. Faika Hanem is forced to buy a child, in order to keep her share of the inheritance with her daughter. When the child grows up, he befriends Omar's son, Rashad, and takes the path of corruption. Faika Hanem resorts to threatening him, by reminding him of his origins and depriving him of the inheritance, which prompts him to threaten to kill her, and the unexpected happens.
