A love story in a sport milieu. The jumper Lore Steinkopf is being courted by three men: the student athletes Karl and Georg and a Brazilian swimming champion, Barrada. At the Olympic Games, where Lore wins a gold medal, jealousy is brewing to the boiling point amongst the three guys. Barrada, though married, is so hot for Lore, that he neglects his training and loses the competition. Furious, he blames Lore and takes his car on a wild ride and rolls it over. Barrada is badly injured; troublemaker Lore just has her make up smudged. The other two men run the marathon against each other. Karl has to quit because he's exhausted from running after Lore and eating too much "healthy" German food. Georg wins the marathon; but Karl gets Lore's heart.

Who won? Who lost? You decide.

Liebesgeschichte im Sportlermilieu. Kunstspringerin Lore Steinkopf wird von drei Männern umworben: den Sportstudenten Karl und Georg sowie dem brasilianischen Schwimm-Weltmeister Barrada. Bei den Olympischen Spielen, bei denen Lore die Goldmedaille gewinnt, kocht die Eifersucht zwischen den Männern hoch. Barrada, obgleich verheiratet, ist so vernarrt in Lore, dass er sein Training vernachlässigt und den Wettbewerb verliert. Rasend vor Wut beschuldigt er Lore, und auf einer wahnwitzigen Fahrt überschlägt sich sein Wagen, Barrada wird schwer, Lore leicht verletzt. Die anderen beiden jungen Männer treten im Marathonlauf gegeneinander an. Karl muss wegen Erschöpfung aufgeben, Georg gewinnt den Wettlauf. Aber Lores Herz gehört Karl.
