Three man and a naughty child:  the brothers Achim, Gerd and Rolf Terbrugge, all bachelors, are simply not prepared to raise their nephew Till, who's been put in their care --- for although the young boy is only 5 years old, he keeps his uncles on their toes.  In desperation, the stressed-out men decide to hire Mary Poppins:  except she should be strict and not too pretty, so the "grown-up" kids don't get any stupid ideas.  And based on the photos that come with their applications --- and not having to worry about any discrimination suits --- they hire Luise Mehlhon, who is far from seductive, except maybe to the bull on the nearby farm.  The men request that she show up as soon as possible.  Unfortunately, Luise has come down with a painful case of the mumps; and so as not to lose her job, asks her friend Kathe to fill in for her in the meantime.  Kathe agrees, though she knows nothing about raising kids and, of course, is a knock out.

Drei Männer und ein freches Kind: Die Brüder Achim, Gerd und Rolf Terbrügge, allesamt Junggesellen, werden einfach nicht fertig mit der Erziehung des ihnen anvertrauten Neffen Till – denn obwohl der Kleine erst fünf Jahre alt ist, hält er seine Onkels ganz schön auf Trab. In ihrer Not beschließen die gestressten Männer, eine Erzieherin zu engagieren: streng soll sie sein, und nicht allzu hübsch, damit die "großen Kinder" nicht auf dumme Gedanken kommen.  So wird aufgrund ihres Bewerbungsfotos die nicht sonderlich verführerische Luise Mehlhorn engagiert, mit der Bitte, so schnell wie möglich auf dem Gut der Herren einzutreffen. Doch leider hat Luise sich einen schmerzhaften Ziegenpeter eingefangen – um den Job nicht zu verlieren, bittet sie ihre Freundin Käthe, vorerst für sie einzuspringen. Die willigt schließlich ein, obwohl sie von Kindererziehung nicht die geringste Ahnung hat und dazu noch ausgesprochen hübsch ist.
