Just because the art student Ulla lies to her older sister about posing for the sculptor Viktor Modell, there is a large amount of confusion and mix-ups. Ilse decides she's going to seek out Viktor and give him a piece of her mind regarding the upcoming posing. Apparently, though, she should have saved more of her mind for herself, because in all the excitement, she leaves the house and leaves her purse behind, which Viktor immediately points out to her (why? did he want to sell her a sculpture?). Because she doesn't want to admit to her screw up, she lies to Viktor -- an apparent common bond between her and Ulla -- and tells him that a certain "Meier" stole her purse. Victor declares himself ready to go and get the bag back and just at that moment, his old friend Philip arrives, who is also enlisted as help in the quest. Coincidentally, a certain Willi Meier, a boxer, no less, lives around the corner and a woman's purse just happens to be lying around in his apartment.

Nur weil die Kunstschülerin Ulla ihrer älteren Schwester Ilse vorgaukelt, sie werde bei dem Bildhauer Viktor Modell stehen, kommt es zu einer Verwicklungs- und Verwechslungsgeschichte sondergleichen. Ilse beschließt nämlich, Viktor aufzusuchen, um ihn wegen ihrer kleinen Schwester zur Rede zu stellen. Vor lauter Aufregung vergisst sie ihre Handtasche, worauf sie von Viktor gleich aufmerksam gemacht wird. Weil sie ihr Missgeschick nicht zugeben möchte, lügt sie Viktor vor, die Tasche sei ihr von einem gewissen Meier geraubt worden. Sofort erklärt Viktor sich bereit, die Tasche zurückzuerobern, und als just in dem Moment sein alter Freund Philip eintrifft, wird auch der genötigt, bei der Suche behilflich zu sein. Zufällig wohnt um die Ecke ein gewisser Willi Meier, ein Boxer, und zufällig liegt in dessen Wohnung eine Damentasche herum.
