Wenn ein junges Paar seinen Vater beschwindelt, so kann das recht unangenehme Folgen haben. Das mußten auch der Komponist Paul Heller und seine junge Frau Hansi erfahren. Der Schwiegervater, ein temperamentvoller Gastwirt wünschte nämlich, daß der Gatte seiner Tochter einen anständigen Beruf ergreifen sollte. Er gab ihm sogar das Geld zum Ankauf eines Gutes und ... es schien tatsächlich aus dem Komponisten ein braver Landwirt geworden zu sein. Woche für Woche trafen in Salzburg Lebensmittelsendungen aus Lindenau ein. Denn das Gut existierte wirklich, nur gehörte es nicht dem Komponisten, der mit dem Geld eine große Operette verlegt hatte, sondern seinem Freund Peter Hilpert.

When a young couple swindles their father, there can be very unpleasant consequences. At least, that's what the young composer Paul Heller and his wife Hansi discover. The father-in-law, a temperamental innkeeper, wants his son-in-law to find a respectable profession. He even gave him money to buy an estate and it actually looks like the young composer has become a good country farmer! Week after week, food packages arrive in Salzburg from the estate at Lindenau. But this estate does not really exist. Or, should we say, it doesn't belong to the son-in-law: the composer took the money and put on a large operetta and the food is being sent by the estate's real owner: the composer's friend Peter Hilpert.
