The unsuccessful composer Jac gets the opportunity to play his composition "Tango Notturno" for the famous singer Mado. In turn, she turns the song into a huge success. Both of them end up marrying and have a son, Charlie, whom the mother idolizes. Into this happy scene, Lincoln, a pilot, shows up with the intention of winning back Mado. Mado ends up meeting with him (why?!) and ensures that he knows she's not available (then why meet him?!). But when she returns home after this meeting, she discovers that he son has died in an accidental fall. Jac accuses her of being unfaithful, which causes her to leave. Lincoln would be able to clear things up, so Jac starts searching for him (dont'cha think that would have been smarter to do BEFORE you accused her of being unfaithful?!?).

Der erfolglose Komponist Jac bekommt die Gelegenheit, der berühmten Sängerin Mado seine Komposition "Tango Notturno" vorzuspielen. Sie macht daraus einen Riesenerfolg. Die beiden heiraten und bekommen einen Sohn, Charlie, an dem die Mutter abgöttisch hängt. Mitten hinein in dieses Glück platzt Lincoln, ein Fliegeroffizier, der Mado für sich zurückgewinnen möchte. Sie trifft sich mit ihm und erreicht, dass er auf sie verzichtet. Doch als sie nach Hause kommt, ist ihr Junge bei einem Sturz tödlich verunglückt. Jac unterstellt ihr Untreue, worauf sie ihn verlässt. Lincoln kann alles aufklären, und Jac beginnt nun, sie zu suchen.
