Eines Tages legt ein führerloses Schiff in Wisborg an, dessen Fracht Pest, Tod und Verderben über die Bewohner bringt. Die Toten tragen alle die gleichen roten Male am Hals. Ellen erkennt diese Herausforderung, und um das unheilvolle Schicksal aufzuhalten, opfert sie sich und gibt sich dem Vampir hin. In den ersten Sonnenstrahlen des neuen Morgens löst sich Graf Orlok in Nichts auf.
Silent classic based on the horror novel "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. Thomas Hutter works in a real estate office in Wisborg and has a happy life with his wife. One day, his boss sends him on a business trip to Transylvania to sell property to Count Orlok ... property, which just happens to be across the street from Hutter and his beautiful, young bride. His wife Ellen has a bad premonition about the trip. She senses the danger her husband will be in, but can't dissuade him from the journey. Hutter meets the count for the first time late at night and gives him the contract to sign. When Hutter wakes up the next morning, he discovers red bite marks on his neck and slowly comes to realize the danger he's in. Orlok is a vampire. Hutter manages to escape from the locked castle after Orlok departs in a coffin for Germany. Hutter realizes the vampire will be taking up residence in the home facing his and fears for his wife. One day later on, a ship without a crew glides into Wisborg, bringing plague, death and ruination to the inhabitants of the city. All the dead bear the same marks on their necks. Ellen realizes what she must do to end this plague. She sacrifices herself to Orlok, but in doing so, causes the destruction of the vampire. This is the original version of the film with its original music, before being modified and changed by various artists in the 1980s.

DER GOLEM (1920):
Dritter von drei deutschen Stummfilmen über die jüdische Legende vom Golem: Das Prager Ghetto im 16. Jahrhundert. Als Rabbi Löw in den Sternen liest, dass der jüdischen Gemeinschaft Unheil droht, schafft er nach einer alten Legende eine mächtige Lehmfigur, den Golem, und haucht ihr mit magischen Kräften Leben ein. Der Golem rettet das Leben des Kaisers, und dieser widerruft seinen Befehl, die Juden aus der Stadt zu weisen. Damit hat der Golem eigentlich seinen Zweck erfüllt, aber als Löws Assistent ihn benutzt, um einen Rivalen zu bekämpfen, läuft der Golem Amok und setzt die Stadt in Flammen. Besiegt wird er erst durch ein kleines Mädchen, das ihm den Stern von der Brust löst, mit dem Löw ihm das Leben gab.
The film concerns itself with the legendary creation of the golem by Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel. In the 16th century, the Jews of Prague face persecution. Rabbi Loew creates a giant golem out of clay, to protect the people. Unfortunately, the creature rebels and wreaks deadly havoc. In the end, a small girl stops the golem by removing the magic star from its chest.

LE GOLEM (1936):
Les Juifs de Prague sont écrasés sous le joug du chancelier Lang, un juif qui a renié sa foi, et qui exerce le pouvoir pendant que l'empereur Rodolphe II s'adonne à la débauche. Le rabbin Loew a autrefois créé le Golem, créature d'argile à la force surnaturelle, qui dort au fond d'un grenier. Un jeune rabbin, qui connait le secret, va lui redonner vie pour sauver son peuple.
The Jews of Prague are being ruthlessly oppressed by Chancellor Lang, an apostate Jew, who serves the empire as its chancellor, while Emperor Rudolf II concerns himself with the occult and his vast store of collectibles. A century earlier, Rabbi Loew created the Golem and gave it life. The Golem was his servant and protector of the ghetto. When Rabbi Loew died, the Golem was left to rot in the attic of the synagogue. However, instructions were left behind to re-animate the creature should the Jews of the ghetto once more be imperiled. Rabbi Loew's successor knows the spell to awaken the Golem; and now, a century later, he will bring the creature to life to save the Jews from a cruel fate.
