Weiss Ferdl is a retired hotel owner. Since his strict wife will only allocate him pocket money, he pawns her pearl in order to help a niece with her vocal studies. In order to get the jewel out of hock, he has to secretly work as a waiter.

Weiß Ferdl als Hotelier im Ruhestand. Da ihm die gestrenge Gattin nur Taschengeld zuteilt, verpfändet er ihre Perlen, um einer Nichte beim Gesangsstudium zu helfen. Damit er das Schmuckstück wieder einlösen kann, arbeitet er heimlich als Kellner.
