Up til now, Eri Bel and Heinz Marius were a happy couple only on the movie screen.  Now, however, the successful film stars want to be a happy couple in real life.  After the next film they star in together, the whole thing should be a reality.  But a stupid fight seems to put all their plans to nought.  Eri believes she has to play her role as a hotel owner especially “elegant”, about which Heinz is anything but enthusiastic.  And when Eri sees her future-to-be flirting with a pretty, young actress, she promptly takes off on a trip to study her role in a real hotel. 

Bisher waren Eri Bel und Heinz Marius nur auf der Leinwand ein glückliches Paar, nun wollen die erfolgreichen Filmstars sich endlich auch im richtigen Leben verloben. Nach ihrem nächsten gemeinsamen Film soll es soweit sein. Doch ein dummer Streit scheint alle Pläne zunichte zu machen. Eri glaubt, ihre Rolle einer Hotelbesitzerin besonders "elegant" gestalten zu müssen, wovon Heinz gar nicht begeistert ist. Als Eri ihren Zukünftigen dann auch noch mit einer hübschen Nachwuchsdarstellerin flirten sieht, reist sie kurzentschlossen ab, um ihre Rolle an Ort und Stelle, in der realen Vorlage des Filmhotels, zu studieren.
