A bus and a truck are moving towards each other along a two-way traffic highway on a rainy day. At the very beginning, we learn that a reckless driver of another car will cause them to collide while trying to pass the bus; we even learn what seats will spell doom for their occupants. The rest of the movie follows two streams of events --- one on the bus and one on the truck --- allowing us to get to know a wide variety of characters; wondering which ones will end up being casualties and holding our breath for our favorites. The epilogue brings even more surprises.

When I discovered this amazing croatian movie (well, at the time it was a yugoslavian one) thanks to my College's film club, in the eighties in Geneva, I thought I would never get the chance to see it again.
Yet, the miracle happened thanks to this so precious english subtitled version, and I cannot recommand it enough to any true cinema passionate : it's a mesmerizing work about fatality, from a true event that deeply shocked Nikola Tanhofer - the movie director.
H-8 is unique and, yes, unforgettable.
