Bogancs pulikutya, aki foglalkozasara nezve az allami gazdasag juhaszanak nyajorzoje, elveszik. Gazdaja mindenfele keresi, de hiaba. Bogancs azonban elvezi hogy azt tehet, amit akar, s csakhamar a cirkuszosok truppjahoz csatlakozik. Dodo, az oreg bohoc ugy gondolja, a kutya idealis partner lenne szamara egy uj szamban, de Bogancs ismet onallositja magat. Ujabb kalandok kovetkeznek, s mielott a kutya igazi bajba keveredne, gazdaja szerencsere ratalal.

Bogancs does his important part in keeping the sheep on a state farm from wandering off.  But one day, when one of the shepherds sends him chasing after a rabbit in the forest, Bogancs gets caught in a trap and his owners can’t find him.  Eventually, he escapes from certain death and ends up being taken in by circus folk.  But from here, too, he ends up back on the streets … This time, however, the dog catchers are out looking for strays to sell to a local professor, who uses the dogs in dangerous experiments with iodine isotopes.
