Der erste Film der überaus erfolgreichen Karl-May-Filme der 1960er Jahre: Der weiße Trapper Old Shatterhand und seine Gefährten sind auf den Spuren von verbrecherischen Schatzsuchern, die von Cornel Brinkley angeführt werden. Unterstützung im Kampf gegen die skrupellose Bande erhalten die tapferen Westmänner durch den Apachen-Häuptling Winnetou. Auf der Jagd nach dem Schatz im Silbersee gelingt es Brinkley, die Ute-Indianer aufzuwiegeln.  

The first film in the widely-successful Karl May films of the 1960s:  The white trapper Old Shatterhand and his companions are on the trail of a bunch of rogue treasure hunters, led by Colonel Brinkley.  The brave men of the West find support in their battles against the ruthless gang from the Apache chief, Winnetou.  While on the hunt for the treasure at Silver Lake, Brinkley is successful at stirring up the Ute Indians.

NOTE:  While this film was originally released in both a German and English dubbed audio, the English dubbed version has been corrupted on commercial copies, so that the dialogue fairly often switches between English and German.  For that reason, we have subtitled the German audio and abandoned the dubbed version.

QUALITY (of feature film only): 

·        Sharpness of picture?  - Excellent quality overall, but, like most panoramic films of the time, the picture is vertically stretched.
