Hotelportier Peter Schatz macht unverhofft eine Erbschaft und ist ganz aus dem Häuschen. Kurz entschlossen fährt er erst mal in die Ferien in einen Winterurlaubsort. Dort steigt er in einem Nobelhotel ab, gibt sich als argentinischer Rinder-Millionär aus, versucht sich im Wintersport, gerät in allerlei turbulente Verwicklungen und findet die Frau fürs Leben.

The concierge Peter Schatz finds himself the recipient of a treasure in the form of an unexpected inheritance and is over the moon.  Quite spontaneously, he decides to take off for the first time to a winter resort for a little holiday.  Once there, he checks into a posh hotel and poses as an Argentinian millionaire, who made his money in the beef trade.  He tries his hand at winter sports, gets into all sorts of turbulent trouble and ends up finding the woman of his dreams.
