Carola Lorm, a celebrated nightclub performer from South America, is hardly thrilled about the fact that her daughter Barbara wishes to marry some guy from Hamburg.  For that matter, her daughter's future father-in-law isn't too thrilled about it either and, on top of that, turns out to be a rather arrogant Hanseatic fruit dealer.  When Carola follows the lovebirds back to Germany, she somehow gets involved in some intrigue involving drug smuggling. But thanks to the intervention of a detective with the hots for Carola, the criminals are kept at a distance and even the ossified fruit vendor is brought into line.

Carola Lorm, gefeierter Revuestar aus Südamerika, ist nicht begeistert darüber, dass ihre Tochter Barbara einen jungen Mann aus Hamburg heiraten will. Das Wetter ist dort ebenso kühl wie der Schwiegervater in spe, der sich als hochnäsiger hanseatischer Obsthändler erweist. Als Carola dem durchgebrannten Paar nach Deutschland folgt, wird sie obendrein in eine Intrige von Rauschgiftschmugglern verwickelt. Doch mit Hilfe eines verliebten Kommissars kann sie den Schurken das Handwerk legen und den verknöcherten Schwiegervater trickreich umstimmen.
