Um dem öden Landleben zu entfliehen, fährt ein Graf alljährlich mit einem Freund nach Italien. Statt der angeblichen Pferdekäufe, die er der argwöhnenden Mama als Zweck der Reisen angibt, sind Damenbekanntschaften der eigentliche Grund. Die logisch daraus folgenden Probleme und Verwicklungen sind Anlaß für ein Lustspiel im Gesellschaftsmilieu.

To escape dreary country life, a count travels to Italy with a friend every year.  Instead of the alleged purchase of horses – the reason he gives to his cranky mother as to why he needs to travel to Italy – he spends his time chasing after the ladies.  The problems and consequences one logically would assume would surface from such lies make up the plot of this comedy.
